Effective Nutritional Health Assessment and Networks of Care for the Elderly (ENHANCE) is one of two programs which provide nutritional support services for the Meals program. The other is called Dietary Administrative Support Services (DASS).
At both
congregate meal sites and in the homes of
older adults, dieticians registered by ENHANCE administer
nutrition screening,
counseling, and intervention services. Approximately 1000
older adults are
screened annually, and are provided
nutrition guidance and referrals to other services as necessary.
ENHANCE has previously been recognized by the National Association of Counties and the Los Angeles County Productivity and Quality Commission for its contributions to the health and well-being of the citizens of Los Angeles County.
