About the Atladena Senior Center

The Altadena Senior Center has served the community for over 25 years. The Center was dedicated by Supervisor Mike Antonovich on May 6, 1982. After obtaining a one million three hundred dollar grant from the federal government, to build a new Senior Center, it was decided in March 1979 that the large residential property at 560 East Mariposa Street was the most suitable site. The property was called "Quinta Carola" - the home of Carol. The original owner had a daughter name "Carol" about 16 years of age, and the property was named after her. As the years passed the property changed owners several times but always retained the Name "Quinta Carola." Plans were made for the modernization of the interior of the house,
