Dispute Resolution Program (DRP) Frequently Asked Questions (with Answers): (back to Questions)

Are the services offered in the Los Angeles County Dispute Resolution Program free? (back to Questions)
To some residents of Los Angeles County they are free. There is no charge to the indigent or who meet the financial qualifications for federal supplemental social security income benefits. For residents who do qualify for service, but do not meet the financial qualifications for free services, there is a fee based on a sliding scale and varies from contractor to contractor.

Where do the funds for the Dispute Resolution Program come from? (back to Questions)
The funding for the Dispute Resolution Program comes from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Trust Fund. Revenue for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Trust Fund is generated from an $8 fee on first time civil filings. Funding levels for the DRP program are dependent upon the annual revenue collected in the ADR Trust fund. For more information about funding see the Los Angeles County Dispute Resolution Program (DRP) FY 2007 - 2008 DRP Program Directory.
